A Talk, Reception, and Book Signing with Marine Archaeologist Mensun Bound
Meet Mensun Bound, the marine archaeologist known as the "Indiana Jones of the Deep," as he shares his firsthand account of the historic discovery of the Endurance—the lost ship of Antarctic explorer Sir Ernest Shackleton. Bound, who has found many famous shipwrecks around the world and served as director of exploration on the elite expedition team who found the Endurance shipwreck last year in the Weddell Sea, will speak this April at Washington College in Chestertown, Maryland—his first appearance in the region since the discovery and release of his new book. Don't miss your exclusive opportunity to hear directly about Bound's personal expedition experiences, have a copy of his recently-released book signed, and mingle with him during a wine and cheese reception held in his honor the evening of April 12. T?his Washington College Center for Environment & Society event is free and open to the public. Bound's new book, The Ship Beneath the Ice: The Discovery of Shackleton's Endurance, is currently on sale online and on campus in the Washington College Bookstore. Additionally, copies will be available for purchase during the book signing. Pre-registration for this event is required as seating is limited, and the theater is expected to fill to capacity.
